Easy Life Club

EASY LIFE CLUB is the coming-out party of song-writer/guitarist, glenroy. After years of recording and touring with various local label acts (Fosters & McGarvey, The Wheat Pool, The Deon Blyan Band), glenroy gathered a supporting cast of steady hands and voices to form the incarnation of ELC; an indie-pop reflection on the tensions between longing and loving, built upon songs crafted over several years and recorded in a basement through seven long months.
ELC explores the tensions in life. The subjects are personal. The histories are told with the congenial melancholy of unfinished business. The warm tones disguise the two winters that book-ended the journey. There are words on this record to express what we have all felt but have failed to escape our throats at some place in time. Perhaps that is what makes it pop.
glenroy has been developing his influences and styles in recent years, as evident on the various song-writing touches and prominent guitar tones throughout. Each track moves with ease through subtle, lo-fi acoustic canadiana, minimalist noise and texture, or tight, bold rock n roll, and features frequent blending of male/female leads. glenroy continues to be a part of the The Wheat Pool foursome, but finding time to write for the next record and pop up for solo performances whenever possible.
