F&M Has A Dark Side

Its been an impressive year and a bit for one of the original Shameless acts, F&M. On November 14/08 its going to seem even better, with the release of their third full length CD, ”EVERY LIGHT MUST FADE” – the distinct follow-up to 2007’s “Let Every Light Shine”.
With a name that began by ripping off a local funeral home, a dark side shouldn’t seem so surprising. However, following such an intentionally positive theme album as “Shine…” with an equally as intentional album full of quiet arrangements, moody tones and hushed delivery of rather dark subject matter does qualify as a surprise; or at least a twist.
F&M has made great strides over the past year, solidifying band choices and lineups, taking it on the road, and growing their audience with a deft touch for diversity and flexibility. Choices around the new record should only further their reach, particularly a partnership with Deadwear, a local clothing brand who have partnered with F&M to assist in the marketing potential of the two entities. It all makes for an exciting new chapter, kicked off with the CD Release on November 14 in Edmonton, at the Haven Social Club.
