Shameless is very proud to welcome a new addition to the family, although not a stranger by any means. The James Murdoch Band, and namely James Murdoch himself, has been a growing fixture in the local Edmonton independent music community, and a growing success in the Canadian indie scene, for the past 5 years. James has produced a large number of the great Shameless records in recent history (The Wheat Pool, Amy Seeley, Nick Perreault), not too mention a dozen more in the burgeoning music scene at home. His talents are spread across production and session credits, but his best qualities are all rolled into his own projects, most notably his recent record “Wondering Where The Rush Has Gone”.

Following two releases on Montreal-based Indica Records, including “In Transit” co-produced with Canadian icon Hawksley Workman, James took his band to a whole new level and made a record for himself. The self-produced “WWTRHG” showcases the growth of Murdoch’s talents as a songwriter and producer, and the meshing of a band spending the past couple of years together in thick and thin – hence the addition of the “Band” moniker.

The relationship between Murdoch and Shameless has always been a fruitful one, and the natural step to working together is one we are all very excited about. “WWTRHG” hits stores June 9, with a special CD Release show in Edmonton scheduled June 12.
