Happy New Year everyone, albeit belated! What a great year at Shameless, and we’re reflective of all the ups and downs the past year endured, and terribly grateful for it all. With some of the great things of the past 365 days behind us we find ourselves looking at the upcoming year with great anticipation. Here are some of the things coming up and just around the corner we wanted to draw attention to:

Tuesday Jan.19
Shameless boss Glen Erickson will be sitting on panel discussion about record labels, alongside reps from Sony, Universal, and EMI, for the Edmonton Info Session sponsored by Alberta Music. The night is entitled “Major Labels vs. Indie Labels (Secrets to Getting Signed plus How To Get a Job as a Record Rep). The boss is truly on the short end of the stick in this one, but it should be a great night for Edmonton area artists to come and learn a lot about this side of the industry and get all their questions answered.

“Hauntario” Keeps Rolling
The Wheat Pool’s latest release (Oct.6/09) continues pulling in great response and extending its reach, even as the band awaits some big 2010 announcements for tours and showcases. The highlights include current top-10 for the single “This Is It” on CBC Radio 3’s R3–30, and more best-of-2009 list-toppers on music blogs such as Sound Salvation Army and Corby’s Orbit. Complete info can be found on their website

New Releases 2010
We are looking forward to some new music and more to start the decade. In the works: news full-length records from F&M and Hector Fector, an EP new videos from The Wheat Pool, and perhaps a brand new ‘thing’ or two.

Good Things Come To An End
Shameless is officially bringing their current relationship with artist Andy Shauf to a close early in 2010. After partnering to release Shauf’s first commercial full-length “Darker Days”, we moved into a management role after negotiating a contract with P is for Panda Records in the US, which saw the re-release of “Darker Days” and the recently released “Four Songs” itunes-only EP. Shauf is continuing to grow his career with Panda and we are focusing on what we do best – label work rather than management.
